This Turkish dish is a delicious traditional meal especially popular with young kids and adults, because of the rice and chicken cooked with a blend of apricot and orange pieces that gives it a unique taste.
The recipe features:
- This dish can be served on its own or as a side dish with any other recipe.
- In some Turkish areas it is served with a tomato sauce dish.
- 2 cups of Abukass Rice
- 4 cups chicken broth
- ¼ cup vegetable oil
- 2 chopped onion slices
- 6 Coffee beans
- 2 cinnamon
- ½ kg Boneless chicken cubes and clip
- 10 dried apricot kernels cut to quarters
- Salt and pepper
- Nuts for garnish
- Fresh mint if desired
Heat the oil and caramelize the onions over a medium heat, then add the desired spices, cinnamon and cardamom.
Add the chicken pieces to the onions and stir from time to time.
Add the chicken broth, salt, fragrances and let it boil, then add the rice and dried apricots and leave the mixture to cook over medium heat.
After the rice is cooked perfectly you can put a little butter in the pan.
Pour the rice in a serving plate and decorate it with fresh mint leaves and nuts.
